5 Fashion Tips For Groomsmen and His Men

The women are making an effort to look their best on your wedding day, so you and your men should too! If you and your friends are sadly fashionably-challenged, don’t worry. There are simple fashion rules to help you bring your A-game.

From finding a tux that fits to wearing quirky socks, here are 5 easy fashion rules to guide you:

1. Your tux should fit.

A more expensive tux isn’t always a guarantee that you will look good. What makes a man dashing in a black-tie is the fit and feel. It doesn’t matter how expensive your tux is - if it doesn’t fit, it wouldn’t look right. Have your tux tailored before the big day and move around in it to see if you can move comfortably. To check if your suit is well-tailored, it should have:

  • Shoulder pads that end with your shoulders
  • Top button should not fall below your navel
  • An inch of trouser break
  • Half an inch of your shirt cuff visible from your jacket

2. It should be appropriate for the event.

Will your wedding be held in the day or the evening? A day event would call for something more casual which would mean lighter colors. This could be in the form of neckties in light or bright shades. Take it further by going for an entire suit in khaki or white. Pair it with loafers or sneakers. An evening affair would be the usual dark suit and leather shoes.

3. Your outfits should be coordinated.

This doesn’t call for looks that are exactly alike but the styles should exude a similarity of theme. For starters, wedding colors should be present in your attire but don’t have to take up the entire outfit. You can inject them in the accessories like the neckties, boutonnieres and pocket squares, instead. You can also add in small coordinated details like matching square cufflinks with each of your initials engraved.

4. Stand out from the men.

You and your bride are the star of this occasion so you need to look the part. Some prefer to not stand out too much, so they opt for a different set of accessories such as white tie in a sea of black ties. If you want to really stand out, try a different colored suit from your groomsmen. You can still coordinate your look with matching accessories.

5. Add personality.

For a more photo shoot worthy look, add a bit of personality to you and your men’s attire. A pop of bright pink pocket square or matching quirky socks add a bit of personality to your look. Buying your wedding party a set of personalized colored socks will not only look great but also serve as practical but cool groomsmen gifts
