The decision to have a destination wedding in Italy was an easy one for us. I had studied abroad in Italy, my family is from Italy, and we traveled there several times as a couple. Colton actually proposed to me in front of my grandfathers childhood home in northern Italy. 

When we first saw photographs of our venue, Villa La Vedetta, and the beautiful panoramic terrace we were sold. We booked the venue sight unseen. We actually never saw our venue or met our planner, Martina, in person until we arrived in Florence the night before the wedding. Planning a wedding from another country is no easy feat but Martina made the experience effortless and pain-free. 

I had never imagined myself having a wedding, which actually made planning easier as I had no expectations going into it. Our wedding day was absolutely spectacular, and was beyond anything I could have dreamed of. 

Among tears, laughter, and so much love we toasted again and again with 80 of our closest friends and family members from all over the world. We danced until 2am and ended the night by jumping in the pool (Colton’s idea). We had the absolute best time, and I wouldn't change anything about it! - Nikki
